of inspiration and interest

I’ve pretty much moved all of my supplies, materials and tools into the new studio but there are still a few bits and pieces that I’m sorting out. While going through a cupboard of such stuff I came across two index card boxes of post cards and photos and then spent a while looking through them. I’ve had these boxes for quite some time, before I had a PC, before iphoto, flickr, bookmarking favourite sites, tagging and pinning images I used to keep snapshots of inspiration in these boxes.

One of the boxes holds post cards of artworks, some of ones I’ve seen others given to me. Here’s just a small sample.

The other box contains a mix of photos I’ve taken and post cards. I got very absorbed looking through this box, it felt like looking through a diary. The things that inspire me have remained pretty constant through my life, my responses may have changed slightly but these boxes seem to hold part of me. I will definitely be revisiting the images in these boxes. I’ll keep them in the studio and I plan to put up an inspiration board using some of theses pictures.
