This year I am starting my A – Z of inspiration and my first post is about Audrey Hepburn. I think I first became aware of her as a young girl watching the film My Fair Lady, and from that point on I was quite smitten.

The opening titles to this film are one of my all time favourites (love those flowers!)

What appealed to me about Audrey Hepburn was her vivacity and gamine elegance. I was never going to be a curvy blonde bombshell but I could imagine and dream that I might possibly be like Audrey.

Last Saturday afternoon, having the house to myself I watched Funny Face.

As a teenager I had a fascination with the 1960’s (particularly the early part of the decade) and Audrey Hepburn’s style epitomises this era.

Recently there was a BBC documentary about Audrey, such a treat for me. She seems to have been a genuinely beautiful person, someone I will continue to be inspired by.
