summer holiday

Earlier in August we went on holiday to our favourite place. We go there nearly every year, sometimes in the Spring, sometimes in the Autumn but I have to get there. A little piece of me needs those mountains, forests, the sea and that sweet fresh air.

This year we returned to the same cottage we rented last year, mainly because of this view.

The cottage isn’t far from the beach and we had some glorious sunshiny days in which to enjoy it.

This year the holiday was tinged with some sadness. When I first visited Fairbourne, and on many occassions since, I have stayed in a cottage belonging to a friend of my Aunty. Sadly Gill died a couple of weeks before we went on holiday this year. It’s thanks to his generosity that myself and my family know and love this place.
