This year me and my man have been together 20 years. Much as I really enjoy being part of other people’s wedding celebrations, designing cards, making favours, painting portraits, I’ve never actually tied the knot myself. I do like a good party too and love all the planning, but I don’t fancy the attention that comes with a wedding. We felt that 20 years deserved some kind of recognition and as luck would have it a good friend has a special birthday this summer so we thought a combined party was the way to go. This way no one is the centre of attention but we all get to have a great party.

I’ve had hours of fun browsing the internet, books and magazine’s for inspiration and have lots of ideas for the party. But first things first we needed an invitation. Designing it gave me the opportunity to try out something new. I’ve used vintage wallpaper and ‘cut out’ text. I’m really pleased with the result and I’m planning to develop this idea for meeni’s stationary range.
